Gestalt Therapy

Gestalt Therapy stands as one of the major psychotherapies. It is a humanistic and holistic treatment for both healing (our damaged self) and for growth (developing our unrealised human potential). Its aim is the integration of the whole person. Fundamental concepts include heightening awareness of the self in the here-and-now; the profound acceptance of personal responsibility; the development of self-support; and the clearing of unfinished business from the past. Depending on the therapist and the client, the work in gestalt therapy can be gentle or rigorous, lengthy or brief, and is invariably both painful and enlightening. MAGGIE DOWN
